Spec

Pricing

Two products, two separate prices.

Copying your company’s data out of AWS is one price. Using Spec on phones is another. Early access is free for both: we don’t take payment yet.

Spec for AWS

Copying your data out of AWS

Spec copies your databases and files from AWS to a computer you own and keeps the copy up to date. Its monthly price is a fifth of what AWS charges to keep the same amount of data in S3 Standard.

Every country pays the same. Spec for AWS is for companies, and the free countries below apply only to Spec on phones.

  • 1 TB

    $4.71 a month with Spec

AWS charges $23.55 a month to keep it in S3 Standard.

  • 10 TB

    $47.10 a month with Spec

AWS charges $235.52 a month to keep it in S3 Standard.

  • 100 TB

    $460.80 a month with Spec

AWS charges $2,304.00 a month to keep it in S3 Standard.

AWS charges $23.55 a month to keep 1 TB in S3 Standard. Spec costs $4.71 a month, a fifth of that. Downloading it all from AWS the first time costs about $83.16, charged by AWS, not Spec. After that, Spec fetches only what changed.

Monthly, in US dollars, and the same in every country: the free countries are for Spec on phones only. AWS list prices for S3 Standard in US East (N. Virginia), checked 28 September 2026; your own AWS bill depends on your region, storage classes and discounts. This compares prices, not bills: you also need a computer to keep the copy on, and your AWS bill only goes down if you delete the data there. Spec never deletes anything in AWS. Early access is free: we don’t take payment yet.
